The National Guard is in trouble. Much of its equipment has been destroyed in combat or left behind for other units in Iraq and Afghanistan. But don’t take it from me. Guard leaders have been singing this tune for months:

It is my understanding that after the Vietnam war it was decided that the National guard was going to be much more integrated into the regular Army. In effect become part of the regular Army.
