Taliban Propaganda Drools over Dead Vehicles

The ground rules for embedding with U.S. forces in Afghanistan include a prohibition on photographing damaged U.S. armored vehicles, specifically the Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected trucks designed to resist roadside bombs. The idea, in part, is to keep from the Taliban any material that might be used for propaganda purposes. After all, these MRAPs are not just the most important weapon of the Afghan war — they’re also a symbol of U.S. military might.

But for all that, the Taliban manages to glean loads of blown-up-MRAP imagery for their propaganda. Check out the latest issue of In Fight, the Taliban’s official English-language glossy magazine. Loads of blown up MRAPs depicted, mostly in what appear to be military photos that must have wound up on-line somewhere. The captions are pure comedy:
