    exceptionalism, anyone?

    Excellent. And another–

    what people call it
    Typical corruptly aggressive political behavior

    Washington
    leadership

    Africa
indictable offense for the World Court
(most politicians so treated are from Africa)

Cute, but tempered somewhat when one considers the extent of each of these in Washington/Africa. I don’t recall the Republicans engaging in a genocidal war against Democrats (yet.) I also suspect that the dispossessed farmers in Zimbabwe might characterize having their property seized by gangs affiliated with the government as being slightly different from the tribulations of the homeless population in a large American city.

To say that some of these are disingenuous is a massive understatement.

True, the genocide was only directed against Native Americans and sure they don’t count. And it was a long time ago.

The heart bleeds for the poor colonials. It’s amazing how these British farmers managed to accrue thousands of acres of land in…Zimbabwe. Land repossession was at the core of anti-colonial struggle from Ireland to Vietnam. Zimbabwe is just lagging behind.

As for the opening post itself, it is slightly weird to see it coming from David Axe, a writer normally known for his craven, obsequious, and generally dull-witted pro-Pentagon propaganda. Still, it can’t be too long before he’s back encouraging Western military intervention in, say, Sudan or some other recalcitrant country. Gotta put food on the table. Save the darkies. White man’s burden. It’s so heavy.
