    Hello Mr. Axe,

I have been following your War is boring for quite some time now and had speculated that the title for the blog comes from the personal experiences of a soldier. Thanks for throwing some light on that. I had come across a similar account of war in the book “Homage to Catalonia” by Orwell where he expresses his boredom and discomfort at the stationary warfare (Spanish Civil War). Anyways, this is a great blog and I have been enjoying it so far.

Too many contracted out duties, get them cleaning toilets, peeling potatoes and other things again instead of betting bored and playing on facebook. My friend was in Iraq and I never saw him online more than when he was there! Lots of things wrong here. They carelessly throw out care packages and all kinds of US gear, as well as set up firing ranges and waste ammunition to quell boredom, our soldiers are turning into little more than immature armed teenagers.
